Demand for solar is booming, with projected demand exceeding supply in terms of the existing number of qualified, locally-based installers. Qualified electricians have a unique opportunity to join this growing market by developing new skills, accessing local opportunities and growing their business base across the city-region.

Green Economy, in partnership with MCS are trialling a new programme of support that aims to accelerate the number of locally based businesses entering and benefiting from Greater Manchester’s growing solar market.

The Solar Installer Accellerator Launch Event is taking place Friday 20 September 2024 at Stockport College.

With a focus on the domestic solar market, The Solar Installer Accelerator will work with local and national partners to provide access to the required qualifications, certifications and skills needed to run a sustainable and thriving MCS certified solar business.

Aimed at electrical contractors, businesses, sole traders and other interested parties, this event will introduce the Solar Installer Accelerator trial and explore what steps Greater Manchester is taking to increasing renewable energy generation across the city-region.

This programme is funded by MCS in partnership with Green Economy and open to businesses based in Greater Manchester not already operating in the Solar sector.
