Registration is now open for this year’s Greater Manchester Green Summit, taking place on Monday 2nd October at The Lowry, Salford Quays.
The event is free to attend and offers a unique opportunity for people across the region determined to drive change to collaborate and network. Bringing together a range of voices and perspectives will help the city-region to meet its ambitious goal of becoming carbon-neutral by 2038.
This year’s summit, which will be the sixth annual event, will provide a first look at the emerging Five-Year Environment Plan for Greater Manchester 2024 -2029, taking a deep dive into the various ambitions and behaviours associated with it.
The focus will also look at the behaviours and motivations of people living and working across Greater Manchester to understand how partners can drive positive change for the environment and meet net-zero targets.
First established in 2018 by the Mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham, the Green Summit offers a great opportunity to meet and network with people who are determined to drive change and help the city-region meet its ambitious goals for the environment.
The Green Summit will feature, talks, exhibition stands and interactive sessions based around key themes including; nature recovery, transport, low carbon energy and buildings, and sustainable production and lifestyles.
It will bring together speakers, exhibitors and delegates from a range of sectors to consider how we can all better collaborate on innovative solutions to the challenges of climate change.
Headline sponsors of this year’s Greater Manchester Green Summit include Autotrader, British Gas, Daikin, Electricity North West, SSE Energy Solutions and United Utilities. Official partners of the event include Energy Systems Catapult, Environment Agency, Manchester Metropolitan University, Siemens Energy, and Suez Recycling and Recovery UK.
The events speakers and the full programme will be confirmed closer to the event but will include Andy Burnham (Mayor of Greater Manchester), Cllr Tom Ross (GM Green City Region Portfolio Lead), The Bee Net Zero Partnership and a range of expert voices from across the green sector.
