Residents across Greater Manchester are invited to have their say on the future of active travel in Greater Manchester as the Big Active Conversation continues in Tameside on Monday 5 June.
The GM Big Active Conversation is a series of quarterly stakeholder gatherings, hosted by TfGM and GM Moving partners.
These events bring people and partners from across Greater Manchester together to share and explore stories, challenges and expertise that will make the city-region a better place for people to walk, cycle, wheel and live active lives.
Six months on from Active Travel Commissioner, Dame Sarah Storey, unveiling a refreshed active travel mission for Greater Manchester, this session will provide an opportunity to reflect collectively on progress made to date and how Greater Manchester can continue to work together to deliver.
These five key priorities which will be a focus across the region in the coming years include infrastructure delivery, home-to-school travel, cycle hire and access to cycles, integration with public transport and road danger reduction.
Dame Sarah Storey will be joined on the day by Transport Commissioner, Vernon Everitt, along with representatives from Greater Manchester’s Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise (VCFSE), business and active travel communities.
The agenda is set to include talks from local leaders and breakout sessions covering a range of topical themes. More details on speakers and breakout sessions will be confirmed soon.
The Big Active Travel Conversation is free to attend and will take place on Monday 5 June from 10 am to 4:30 pm at the Village Hotel Manchester Ashton, Pamir Drive, Ashton-Under-Lyne OL7 0LY.
