Manchester Airports Group (MAG) has entered into a multi-year agreement with Cirium to achieve its environmental goals.
MAG will use Cirium’s analytics tools, including EmeraldSky and On-Time Performance data, Diio’s market intelligence and Fleets Analyzer.
EmeraldSky will offer the most accurate CO2 flight emissions data for the monitoring, reporting and modulation of airport charges. Its methodology has been vetted by experts from the University of Manchester and Manchester Metropolitan University. MAG is the first Tier-1 airport group to use the emissions tool.
Cirium’s On-Time Performance data measures the performance and reliability of airports and airlines. This will enable MAG to benchmark its performance against other airports in the UK and across the globe.
Fleets Analyzer will provide a better understanding of the evolution of MAG’s fleet, while Diio market intelligence will help to develop more robust business cases to attract new routes to its airports while monitoring market changes and improving forecasting.
Cirium’s data and analytics will enable MAG to make “quicker and better-informed decisions” by enhancing strategic planning and post-operations analysis.
Andrew Macmillan, Chief Strategy Officer at MAG, said: “Ensuring our airports are operating as sustainably as possible is a priority for MAG. Any new insight as to how to cut our carbon emissions moves us closer to our goal of net zero aviation by 2050.
“This new partnership will aid strategic planning across MAG, improve operational efficiency for our colleagues and airline partners and deliver a better airport experience for our passengers.”
